The Apologetics of Leroy Forlines

In The Apologetics of Leroy Forlines, J. Matthew Pinson brings together select writings of F. Leroy Forlines on apologetics and the knowledge of God. He begins the volume with a lengthy essay on the apologetics of the foremost systematic theologian of the modern Free Will Baptist Church and the contemporary Reformed Arminian movement.

Sexuality, Gender, and the Church

Lots of Christians are asking questions about how to bear witness in the new cultural landscape regarding the topics of sexuality, gender, and the definition of marriage. This book helps provide solid answers to those questions, for church leaders, small groups, Sunday schools, and students.

Arminian and Baptist

Dr. Pinson presents a collection of historical-theological essays from the vantage point of a variety of Arminianism coming to be known as Reformed Arminianism. These essays describe the contours of the theology of the seventeenth-century English General Baptists Thomas Helwys and Thomas Grantham, showing their kinship with the thought of Jacobus Arminius, and the ways they diverged from thinkers such as John Smyth, John Goodwin, and John Wesley.

Classical Arminianism

This book is a valuable contribution to the Arminian-Calvinist debate. Forlines is known for his work on this subject, having previously published “Quest for Truth” with Randall House in 2001. This new book takes the content related to the doctrine of salvation from that original work arranging it in logical order in a more reader-friendly fashion. Pinson added his introduction to the work and edited the content related to the doctrine of salvation.

Light and Truth

Light and Truth is a pictorial history celebrating the 75th anniversary of Welch College.

The Washing of the Saints Feet

Dr. Pinson explores the historic tradition of feet washing and its influence on the 21st-century church. The author also presents a discussion of the historical definition of the term “ordinance” and why some throughout church history have defined feet washing as an ordinance to be practiced. At the end of each chapter are hymns that speak to the subject of feet washing. An appendix includes a discussion by Augustine on John 13. Also included are study questions to be used in a church or classroom setting.

4 Views on Eternal Security

Does the Bible support the concept of ‘once saved, always saved,’ or can a person lose his or her salvation? How do the Scriptures portray the complex interplay between grace and free will? These and related questions are explored from different angles in this thought-provoking Counterpoints volume. The contributors each state their case for one of four prominent views on eternal security: Classical Calvinist, Moderate Calvinist, Reformed Arminian, and Wesleyan Arminian. In keeping with the forum approach of the Counterpoints series, each view is first presented by its proponent, then critiqued by the other contributors.

Perspectives on Christian Worship

Perspectives on Christian Worship presents in counterpoint form five basic common beliefs on Christian worship that have developed over the course of church history with a view toward determining which is most faithful to Scripture. Each chapter is written by a prominent person within each tradition, and each writer has the opportunity to respond to each differing view.

A Free Will Baptist Handbook

This handy book introduces who we are, where we came from, what we believe, what God has done through us in the past, and what He is doing through us today. It is written in plain language so as to be an understandable source of information to the average person in the pew, yet it is also a thorough and up-to-date study. The book is ideal for use with new church members, prospective members, or as a “refresher course” for the seasoned Free Will Baptist church members or pastors.

Free Will Baptists and Church Government

Every Christian denomination has unique beliefs and practices that give it identity and define its heritage. For Free Will Baptists, this heritage includes the topics discussed in the Free Will Baptist Heritage Series. Each pamphlet gives the reader a deeper understanding of the development of each historic doctrine. All pamphlets are published by the Historical Commission of the National Association of Free Will Baptists.
